THE SUNS

Last night the SUNS debuted for the 08-09 season.  The boys got cozy on the couch and cheered them on! Big win for the Suns against the Spurs.
Restless Sleep

Since Sam is officially teething...no-one in the house is getting much sleep.  It stinks b/c we were doing so well (and getting spoiled by the 8-9 hours of un-interrupted sleep). And while in the early days the lack of sleep is part of life.  This time around our bodies have not been so understanding!  Sometimes if you lay down with him, he will go back down!  Not the best idea since getting him out of our bed was hard in the first place!!! But, one will do anything for some extra sleep. Justin caught us yesterday morning when he woke up...Oh well, It sure makes for a cute picture...
Yesterday we had three other babies over to play.  Zoe, Cade & Amanda.  The kids were so cute and actually  "played".  It was funny to see them explore each other, pulling, pinching & poking.  The Mom's had fun too!  It is always nice to talk with other adults during the day and swap stories.

On Sunday we drove out to Schnepf Farms.  It was a little above Sam's head, but we enjoyed it!  We got a great pumpkin to carve and saw some cool animals at the petting zoo.  We also got to watch "pig races". It was hysterical.  The pigs were racing along a make shift track. They could really get movin' too!

                                  Little Einsteins

This is a cute video showing how intense Sam will get
when watching TV.  But, also notice how coordinated
and in sync he is with the music. Pretty Funny!

                                 LOG ROLLING...

Sam has discovered his first form of transportion...as of this week he has  started rolling everywhere.  I left the room on Monday (he was playing in his gymni-mat) and came back to find him all the way across the room. If I put him on a blanket and put a toy across from him he rolls and rolls to get over to it.  The only problem is he gets stuck against things like the couch & ottoman and gets very frustrated!!  He is definately a boy who wants to be on the move & independent.  All in time...

MOTHER NATURE'S FARM

Sam was actually sitting by himself in these shots!  YAY!!! By next week he should have it completely mastered, as he is still a bit wobbly...
This is Zoe from our Gymboree classes. (her mom Kelly was there too :)
This afternoon Sam & I went to a pumpkin patch!  They had baby chicks, pigs, dogs & tons of pumpkins. They also had hayrides, pumpkin decorating and a hay maze.  Sam was definately aware and interested in ALL that was going on around us!  I met some other friends there and it was a perfect place for photos.  Here are just a few of them.

Lovin' the Bath

Sam has always seemed to like taking baths, but now it's a whole new world.  As of lately he really enjoys splashing and watching the whole process take place.  The minute he hears the water running he starts to get all excited.  I'm not sure if it's the bath he's excited for, or that it's almost bedtime.  He seems to enjoy both of them equally.  Justin and I have quite the system down too!  It makes bedtime smooth and enjoyable for ALL...

Ellie's Graduation

Congrats, Ellie!!  We are so proud of you!  You will be terrific...We Love you!

LIMO RIDES & FANCY DINNERS

Saturday the whole Skiver Family was in town.  And  In honor of Ellie's graduation we went out to celebrate!  Sam is officially spoiled, he rode in the limo and ate dinner with us too!  He was such a good boy and fell asleep within 5 minutes of the ride and hung out content at the restaurant!  We ate a delicious dinner at Navy Bistro and headed back to have a bonfire with Smores.  It was a perfect fall night...

Four Generations in one room

This past weekend we were back in Toledo for a visit!  We were so lucky to be able to spend some time with Great Grandpa Albright.  He is currently having some health problems and having Sam visit definately helped bring some sunshine his way!  These visits are such special memories for Sam, My Mom & I.  We Love you Papa.
Tumbleweed Park
We have been exploring some of the local parks on the weekends. Sam rode in the swing for the first time and loved it!  The weather here has been so great and we are taking full advantage of it.

Our First Baby...

Kiley has been so great with Sam.  Better than we EVER imagined. We are so proud of how patient and loving she is with him. Lately, he gets the biggest kick out of her too! If we ask "Where's the Doggy?" He gets all excited.  He especially likes watching her get her ball. He thinks it's hilarious. Kiley just sort of humors him.  We still can't get her to stay put when he's crying.  She is out her doggy door quick as can be!!
Big Chair & A Little Man...

Technically we were suppposed to wait for Tuesdays (6 month appt.) to give Sam any of the big boy foods. But, we decided to give it a try..Carrots!!!   We started with a few spoonfuls thinking that would be plenty, low and behold he ate the entire jar... He Loved It!!  Next up...Eating with Manners :)

In Dad's Footsteps...
(oh no!!!)
