Sam and Sofia...

We were lucky to spend lots of time with the Swades over Xmas.  Sam and Sofia were really sweet.  They played side by side with a drum and Kasey read them a story.  They were both totally enthralled!  You can tell we read to them!!  The minute the book was open they were both at full attention.

**Thank you Kasey and Danny for having us over so often, we really enjoyed hanging out.  And Thank you Sofia for sharing ALL  your toys!  

Home for the Holidays....

We were lucky to have two full weeks home for the holidays.  It was nice to be around family and in the true "winter" weather!!  

Finally

It seems like Sam has been ready to crawl for weeks now!!  On New Year's Eve he took his first stab at it! Now he can do it (when he chooses)!! It is not his preferred method of transportation!  He seems to prefer rolling, scooting and army crawling.  We're wondering when he will figure out this crawling thing is much more efficient?  He is also very focused on pulling up!  The kid has amazing determination (courtesy of Daddy)!!!! He is also getting quite the work-out.  He was actually flushed and sweating today from all the activity!!

                    Standing Tall

A New Trick... Sam will be 9 months old on Friday and he has sure been a busy boy.  This video shows him pulling up into the standing position!  He is SOO proud of himself!  He is so confident that he holds on with one hand at times!  Sleeping is once again on the back burner due to this new discovery. He stands up on EVERYTHING. Lots of kabooms, but he gets right back up and at 'em!  I am trying to keep my gasping to a minimum....it's hard!!!!! It seems like he has mastered this skill overnight!! Literally!

Wiggling, Spinning,& Turning 

These next 2 videos were at Kasey's request.  They are nothing earth shattering....so keep the expectations low :)  She wanted to see how Sam was getting into the sitting position!  This is what you have to look forward to Kase...He is literally all over the place, and he's not even crawling yet!!! No more leaving him in a room by himself!

The Skiver Boys

So, we are doubly blessed.  Not only did we get to spend time at the Hyman Household, but we also had Thanksgiving at the Skiver's.  Two great meals, with great company, and all within 20 minutes of each other.  We are so lucky!  We also got to have 2 fabulous meals, which we are still trying to work off!!!  

Uncle Matt

First, we hear that Justin and Matt resemble each other (What??)....now Sam looks like Matt (the baby shots are undeniable)!!!  Well good thing Matt is so handsome....Thanks for spending so much time with Sam over Thanksgiving!!  He is one lucky baby boy, you are an amazing Uncle. See you soon!!

Over Thanksgiving Sam had no shortage of female admirers. The "cousins" each helped out: playing games, giving bottles and just cuddling!  Sam was sure in heaven...Who wouldn't be??

8 Months Old

Don't you just love the HAIR???  It is so unruly, yet so charming at the same time!

I admit, I have been somewhat distracted these past few weeks.  The blog has fallen to the wayside...Big Time!! Sam turned 8 months old last week...hard to believe!!  He is doing all sorts of new things.  He can now put the "bink" in all by himself. He is able to get into the sitting position from his back and belly (this discovery has kept him from sleeping) all he wants to do is sit up!!!  He can feed himself finger foods and actually get them into his mouth. And yesterday he pulled himself into a standing position with the help of a toy. Somewhat scary, yet exciting too!  Daddy was egging him on and he has done it again this morning!  The list goes on, but you can all see for yourselves over the holidays!
